COLOGNE – Humanscale, the premier designer and manufacturer of ergonomic solutions, will bring the active workspace to Orgatec, 21 – 25 October 2014, on stand 6.1 A81. Today’s workplace prioritises balanced activity to encourage health, comfort and productivity. Known for creating intuitive products that promote natural movement, Humanscale is the leading company to address this emerging trend. The ergonomics company will showcase its new multispace solutions, the Ballo stool and Trea chair, as well as the innovative QuickStand height-adjustable workstation and the distinctive Diffrient Smart chair. All of these products support current workstyles.
Humanscale’s multispace solutions are well-suited for a wide variety of environments and promote healthy movement throughout the day for all users whatever their tasks. As work and home environments converge and spaces become smaller, Humanscale has introduced this new, essential category of seating products.
Designed by Don Chadwick, the Ballo stool is a multispace product created for short-term, active sitting, encouraging users to incorporate balanced movement into their days. The Ballo stool features a playful yet sophisticated form that is appropriate for any space, and is available in a variety of vibrant colors that complement its settings. It allows users to move it around for impromptu meetings due to its lightweight construction (6.8 kg) and integrated hand-holds, and its counterweight in its base ensures it remains upright. Made with a thermoplastic elastomer material, rather than the industry standard of PVC, the Ballo stool is environmentally and human friendly. It will be available in 2015.
Designed by two time International Designer of the Year nominee Todd Bracher, the Trea chair is a multispace sitting solution appropriate for many settings. Unlike other chairs in its class, it features a unique and innovative solid state recline mechanism that offers up to 12 degrees of recline. The Trea chair is extra supportive and encourages users to move and change postures as needed. Available with various base (four-leg, four-star and cantilever), finish and upholstery options, the Trea chair can be customised to complement any environment. It will be available for order in 2015.
QUICKSTAND HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE WORKSTATION
Ideal for the active workspace, the QuickStand height-adjustable workstation allows users to alternate between sitting and standing postures throughout the day. It will be available 1st October.
The QuickStand workstation attaches to the back of any fixed-height work surface, offering the ability for users to integrate sit/stand into their environments without purchasing new furniture. Contributing to a clean aesthetic, it features a sophisticated cable harness that includes a power cord, a DVI cable and two USB cables. This allows the user to simply plug in a computer (laptop or desktop) and go. Built with a sturdy design, the QuickStand workstation does not move as the user types.
DIFFRIENT SMART CHAIR
Designed by ergonomics pioneer Niels Diffrient, the Diffrient Smart chair combines Humanscale’s signature weight-sensitive recline, Form-Sensing Mesh Technology and ultimate ease of use in a form that complements high design environments. Its patented weight-sensitive recline mechanism allows users to freely move from posture to posture without making any manual adjustments. The Diffrient Smart chair features strong, clean lines and a unique U-shaped design on its back. It will be available for order in 2015.
These and other Humanscale innovations can be experienced at stand 6.1 A81 at Orgatec. At 4 p.m. every day of the show, Humanscale will have a happy hour on the stand. Join us for drinks and nibbles. Humanscale will also hold a press conference on these new products on Wednesday, 22nd October at 4 p.m. Please contact Dr. Stefanie Haug-Grimm for more information.
